Youth organization for Relief and Development “YORD” is a non governmental, non profit making organization, established in the year 1992 and registered in legal status as LNGO.

Since the central authority of Somalia collapsed in the year 1991, the country's public sectors also became un functional which created a very big gap that needs to be covered. YORD started to work on certain sectors among are Education, Health, Youth and Women empowerment through training and capacity building intervention.

Background

The growing children and women in our society have a great need for to forget the horrifying and terrible scene brought by the civil war and critical situations that will disturb the children and women healthily and entally to the education. Therefore providing a solution and a crucial need is one of the major targets of the organization.

Computer Courses Going on At YORD Center

Computer Courses

To improve the standard of education of the schools that the organization supports, YORD gives teacher training courses for the teachers.

The organization implemented two Women vocational training program in Mogadishu in the year 2008, 60 women participated the course and the beneficiaries were a great number of the society in Mogadishu and roughly 480 dependent family members of the participants. After tracing done by the organization it has been realized a great livelihood change.
